The best five for Friday yet!

Thursday, February 27, 2014

This weeks Five for Friday just about checks every box on a girls must-have list!

1. This diamond bracelet. Diamond Bracelets are classic perfection. They go with everything and can be passed from generation to generation. Anjolee was kind enough to send me this replica of one of their popular diamond bracelets. Y'all, it's so gorgeous. The quality is superb, the latch is secure, and the sparkle is ooo-la-la.

I might add that is it extremely hard to photograph your own wrist. Mission semi-accomplished.

I would highly recommend Anjolee. Even if you're not in the market for diamonds, it is still fun to click around and dream!

2. Texas Burrito Company food truck launch party.

It was so fun hanging with Celeste and meeting Helene! Helene's personality is captivating and we hugged the moment we saw each other because we felt like we already were friends. Blogging does that to ya!

Burrito coma below. I brought one of m best friends, Desirae. We had so much fun! I will post more details about this event next week!

3. I am really looking forward to low key weekend. Since we were anticipating moving this weekend (read why we no longer are here) we have no plans. I am probably going to go hang with some girlfriends while Chris does something manly.

4. Essie nail polish. I have had the same color on for two weeks and it doesn't even look terrible

5. Sour Punch straws. Wednesday I had to drop something off at UPS. They had a bowl of candy sitting out so I grabbed a mini sour punchh straw. I drove away and instantly stopped at the next gas station because I knew I HAD to have more. I haven't bought candy at a gas station in years, so it felt like I was stepping back into my younger days of a daily does of gas station food.

Happy Friday, friends!

WIWW: No shopping + link up!

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

Here we are February 26th and I have yet to buy anything this year. I blame it on this little thing called buying a house. Not only has it consumed all of our time, but it is taking all our money, too. And I have to add in the fact that after my year of no shopping, I don't really crave shopping like I used to. I am more excited about shopping for things for our new house!

On my radar, though, are a new pair of leopard flats. I have a pair that I got at Target for $12 three years ago and they hurt my feet so bad. I don't get blisters, my feet just hurt really bad at the end of the day. I think I have earned a new pair by now!

Wednesday Randoms:

- Last weekend I was in sweats and a tee-shirt and packed all weekend. I didn't even feel like getting dressed in real clothes to go take pictures.

- I really want to cut my hair again, but I also want to grow it out for my best friend's wedding!

- I am kinda over the Bachelor. Juan Pablo's lack of ability to hold a conversation is about as unattractive as it comes. Plus, I already read the spoilers...

- Chris just called me, "baby..." and I almost threw up. Call me anything you'd like, just non "baby" or "sweetie." He usually does it just to annoy me. Babe, bear, and Mrs. T (only because that's what my kiddos call me) are usually his go-to names for me, but when he wants to make me laugh/get my attention, he throws out a "baby". We have nothing against "baby," it just is not us!

Now for the link up!
- All I ask is you link back to my blog and link to a specific post.

- Write about something fashion related (accessories, shoes, modeling, make-up, etc.)

Our new master bedroom inspiration...

Monday, February 24, 2014

Our old master bedroom
Since moving day is quickly approaching, I have been scouring Pinterest in search of the latest design inspirations.

In my la-la-land mind, I would love a girly, mostly white, lots of crystal and mirrors, bedroom. I showed Chris this picture and he said, "Ugh, no. Not us, babe...we are like deer heads and dead animals."

Out with my dream bedroom, and in with a bigger does of reality. While the deer heads won't be coming into the bedroom (they are restricted to the man cave/2nd living room), I am keeping Chris in mind during the decoration process this time around. Last time, well, I just did what I wanted and he went along for the ride.

I feel like we all fall into the category of 'pin a bunch of stuff that is gorgeous, but you would never have in your actual house...' I have tried to pin pictures that I can actually recreate in my completely normal -not Pinterest-dream-world house.

Here are a few of my favorite pins:

Chris said, "I could dig it..." Possible winner! I love the dark walls with the light bedding. No source.

Talking about the picture above (source: here):

Sarah: Do you like this one?
Chris: Hmmm, ya? I don't like the chandelier. This isn't a freaking ballroom.

I love this bedroom above. I asked Chris, thinking he would hate it and he surprisingly liked it. Winner, winner! I love how it doesn't look 'perfect', yet it looks completely put together. Source: here.

And then Chris saw me scan over this one on Pinterest and his eyes lit up like he had just spotted the love of his life...yuck. Maybe if we lived in a cabin, but we don't soooo. Source: here.

Maybe I won't consider his opinion in the decoration of this house either...

Happy Tuesday!

Less than a week...

Sunday, February 23, 2014

When we moved in - April 2012
The big move is this Saturday and we couldn't be more excited! We spent all weekend packing, packing, packing!

I take that back. Friday night we met Amber and Jordan for dinner. It was SO nice catching up with them! We love this couple and are making it a point to see them more often!

Now, for Saturday. Literally we packed...all day long. From the time we woke up to the time we went to sleep.

I have a feeling posts this week and next will be few and far between. Our internet gets cut off on Friday night, and we don't get it installed in our new house until March 8th, so I am guessing it will be hit or miss if I get to blog or not. Chris and I will be getting a lot of quality time in together with no TV or internet distractions.

Happy Monday!

I'm the kinda girl who...

Thursday, February 20, 2014

Because every post needs a picture...
I'm the kinda girl who...

- has to clean the kitchen before I go to bed. I get it from my Meme.

- turns into a witch when I'm tired or hungry.

- would love to look like the Tone It Up girls, but am perfectly okay with how I look. Ice cream is greater than looking like Karena and Katrina.

- will go out in public with no makeup and look as though I just ran through the woods.

- hates committing to stuff because I hate having the possibility of having to cancel for some reason.

- can fry chicken like my Momma.

- will always be a Daddy's girl.

- never got into the party scene and doesn't like alcohol.

- wants to redecorate my house all the time.

- never knew she could love her dogs as much as she loves some humans.

- tells it like it is, but has evidence to back it up.

- hates, absolutely hates red roses.

- can't use a sponge because the thought of the germs on it grosses me out.

- despite my hate for sponges, I will apply the five-second rule to almost anything.

- would rather go explore a city than lay on a beach and do nothing.

- has never counted calories or analyzed what I'm eating. I eat it, and I enjoy it, and that's that.

Happy Thursday!

WIWW: Polka Dots + Link Up!

Wednesday, February 19, 2014

Last week I went to an event at Kendra Scott. I wore this outfit with flats to school, so the transition to wedges was perfect to make me feel a bit less fifth grade teacher-ish.

Also, I'm slightly obsessed with tops like this. Sheer, loose, and polka-dotted...yes, yes, yes!

And these pants are so stretchy, yet hold their shape so I don't look like a total sloppy mess by the end of a school day.

Wednesday Randoms:

- I was home sick yesterday with a stomach bug that bit me at midnight on Monday. I had a date with the bathroom from 12-4. It was awful.
- Our house is a wreck from packing and I'm not even worried about it.

- One of my very best friends got engaged over the weekend and to say I'm excited is an understatement!! Let the wedding festivities begin!

Now for the link up!

- All I ask is you link back to my blog and link to a specific post.

- Write about something fashion related (accessories, shoes, modeling, make-up, etc.)

Sweatpants, pizza, photography, and packing...

Sunday, February 16, 2014

A public service announcement should go out every day there is a school party. Those kids are on some other planet when they know they are going to get to consume their weight in sugar at the end of the day. Besides the fact that they were quite a trip on Friday, they were their normal precious selves. They showered me with gifts and I couldn't thank them more! They're such a huge part of my life and knowing the adore me just as much as I adore them means the world to me!

Like I said, if you've never experienced a grade full of ten year old jacked up on sugar, you should. It will drive you to drink eat pizza and be in bed by 8:45pm on Valentine's. Like I said, we are 80 year olds in young people's bodies. I think I was on my second dream by 9:00pm. No shame.

I did manage to make chocolate covered strawberries on Sunday and I'm embarrassed to share the number I consumed. Okay, I consumed 13 chocolate covered strawberries and I admit I have an addiction. Once again, no shame.

Sunday I had the joy of photographing one of my best friend's babies. He got a little cranky, so she picked him up to put a smile back on his face, and those pictures turned out the best! He is such a doll!

After the shoot Chris and I decided to take the dogs out to play for a bit. There is no greater joy than watching my husband and my dogs. Melts a mommy's heart every single time!

What's not pictures from this weekend is the imminence amount of packing we got done. Our house looks so blank, but rather than feeling sad about leaving this house, I am excited to get in our new one!! Two more weeks and counting!
