I confess...

The house is slowwwwwlyyyy coming along...
...I haven't had much desire to blog lately. Between moving, my kiddos taking the STAAR, and the sheer exhaustion of just living on this planet, I have had to force myself to muster up a post. I can feel the itch coming back, though. I can't wait to show y'all more house projects!

...we have three deer heads hanging in our living room...and it was my idea.

...I am so ready for summer.

...I bought $30 worth of things at Ross and I am taking them back because I feel guilty. Y'all, my resolution seriously changed me. Not even kidding.

...I purposely "forgot" to get ice cream at the store today because Chris and I have no self control when it comes to eating ice cream. It is bad.

...I have a to-do list that is a mile long, but I just get so overwhelmed that I end up doing nothing.

...Chrisley knows best might be my favorite new show. Don't judge.

Happy Tuesday!

A jet plane to Connecticut

Sunday, March 30, 2014

This weekend Chris and I headed up to Connecticut for an award's ceremony. Chris's boss get a pretty prestigious award in their industry and since there was an extra seat on the company jet, I was able to tag along! Chris gets to go on the jet throughout the year, but little ole school teacher me doesn't have that luxury. We are so blessed that he works for such an amazing company.

We left Texas Saturday at 10:00am and arrived in Connecticut around 2:45pm. We checked into the hotel, ran to the Starbucks in the lobby to grab a drink, then got ready for the ceremony. It was like a luxurious date night!

Sunday we hopped up and were back on the jet at 10:00am. In typical fashion, I was starving when we landed so we headed to McKinney Square for some lunch, shopping, then we finally convinced ourselves to go home and unpack more boxes.

I can proudly say we can now fit one car in the garage. Chris and I worked out in the garage all afternoon. We met most of our neighbors and they are so, seriously, so nice! They would walk by and welcome us to the neighborhood. We all introduced our dogs to one another. It was a really great afternoon.

I hope to take some pictures of the house soon! We are still trying to find time to unpack and decorate. I need more hours in the day!

My kiddos have the STAAR test this week, so prayers are welcomed!

Happy Monday!

Our New House: A Tour!!

Friday, March 28, 2014

Sorry I have been MIA this week. Chris and I are headed to Connecticut this weekend (on a private jet...eeek!), so I have been scrambling everyday this week to unpack as many boxes as possible! We have some curtains hung, some decorations up, but lots left to do!

But, without further adieu, here is our new home. It was built in 2002 and needs a lot of TLC, but we can't wait to make it our own! The bonus: a corner lot!

As you can see, the previous owners have already started the updating process. The kitchen has so much room for activity and Chris is already loving that "man cave." And did I mention our commutes to work are unbelievable? Mine went from two hours round trip to 40 minutes round trip. Chris's went from two hours round trip to about 20-30 minutes round trip. We are definitely loving the extra time at home!
A few updates we have in mind:
- Kitchen updates. Stain cabinets, granite counter-tops, new island, stainless steel appliances.
- New floors. I love the coziness of carpet, but let's be honest...Wrigley and Bailey rule the roost and they leave evidence everywhere they go.
- Rock (limestone) around the fireplace.
- Update guest bathroom and finish updating the master bath.
- Build a cover over the back patio.
Well, there ya have it! Hopefully next week I can snap some current shots of the house. I can't wait to start getting our hands dirty with some updates!
Happy Friday!

A New House Update

Monday, March 24, 2014

Sneak peek at our master bathroom!
Hello everyone!

Thanks so much for the congrats on the house. We are LOVING it so far, and especially loving the commute! While I would love to sit here and relax, I am currently still in search of my shoes, contacts, and cereal bowls, so I must keep unpacking!

Hope to update ya'll tomorrow!

It happened!

Thursday, March 20, 2014

bye, bye old house...
We did it! We closed on our house on Wednesday! After a long, drawn out process, we are happy to say we are moving this weekend. Through all of this we were trying to stay positive and see what God's message was. I believe we learned patience and how to positive when things don't happen on your time. We had to ultimately give up and let Him have control. When we lost that control, we felt more at peace and everything fell into place.

I can't wait to share this new home adventure with y'all. We are said to be leaving our beautiful home, but happy to be closer to our jobs and friends!

Happy Friday!

WIWW: Aztec Sweater + Link Up!

Tuesday, March 18, 2014

I have been wanting an Aztec sweater for over a year now. I talked about scouring the internet the night of December 31, 2012 in hopes of being able to order a sweater before my new year's resolution stared. I was in an airport in New Mexico. There was no service cell service and I wasn't able to make a purchase. I went a whole year without shopping and at the end of it all, I still really liked the Aztec print.

Last week on my spring break I went to Ross because I naturally had birthday money burning a hole in my wallet. The first day I found some things that I went home and tried on. One dress I bought, I realized when I got home, had the sleeve cut outs (do you know what I'm talking about? like a sleeve, but it has a slit in the middle...), so it accentuated my arms and shoulders...something a girl with softball arms shouldn't accentuate. Anyways, I went back to Ross the next day to return the dress and I stumbled upon this Aztec sweater for...$9.99. Nine-freakin' ninety-nine, people! The one I had been eyeing over a year ago was over $50. I was in shopping heaven.  And, if I'm being honest, I wore this sweater five out of the seven days of spring break. With yoga pants? Check. With jeans? Check. With yoga pants and flip flops to go get a pedicure? Check. I've already got my monies worth!

In other news...by the time you're reading this we will currently be (or already have!) signed the contract on our new house. It is a done deal, people!! Finally! After having the closing date pushed back numerous times since February 27th, we will officially be moving Saturday. Thank The Lord! Never in a million years did I think I would be buying my second home at 24, but then again, when does life go the way you thought it would?

Randoms:

- I am obsessed with OPI Shorts Story. It is the perfect summer pink.

- I  really appreciate the love and comments about yesterday's post!

- Jessie James and Eric Decker had their baby yesterday. I can't even imagine how gorgeous that child will be!

- I have gone so long without TV that I am not even sure what reality shows I watch anymore.
- There is something in the blogger water and it is making you get pregnant. You've been warned. Every day I wake up to another sonogram picture on IG, and I love it! Babies make me happy and sleeping in on the weekends (only until 7am, but hey! that's better than 5:00am!) still makes me happy. But, baby fever has hit...hard.
- One of my new goals for myself is to stop being on my phone/social media for at least 30 minutes before I go to sleep. If I scroll through Twitter, Facebook, IG, etc. before I fall asleep, I end up having vivid dreams about the people on my social media. Yes, YOU could have been in one of my dreams. I am really not getting good sleep because of it, so I should probably stop.
